LOS ANGELES (TNND) — A former late-night talk show host was spotted serving meals to firefighters who have been busy battling the ongoing wildfires in the Los Angeles area.

Jay Leno showed his support to the first responders this week. He stopped by the Pacific Palisades area to serve hot meals to Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters.

A video shared by the department's spokesman showed other officials from various agencies, including the National Guard.

Erik Scott, a fire captain and public information officer for LAFD, thanked Leno for his contribution in a statement posted on X, "We're grateful for his kindness (and) the support from our community during this challenging time."

Rescue crews in the Los Angeles area that are "coming off the line" on Monday were served steaming barbecue.

Leno, who drove to the Pacific Palisades site in a 1941 American LaFrance fire truck, reflected on the wildfires' destruction on FOX News' "Your World" on Wednesday.

During Leno's interview he called the Los Angeles Fire Department the "best in world."

"It's so odd. It's 80 degrees, it's a beautiful day. To have hell in paradise within just a few feet of each other.. it's very strange," Leno said.

He then described the response to a large-size military operation. "It's pretty amazing to watch," the comedian added.

"I'm like the cook in the old gun... wagon-train movies. I'm just trying to help out and do what I can and just have fun."

According to Leno, the firefighters he's encountered haven't spoken to him about the politics behind the devastating wildfires.

"No one is blaming this or that they're just fighting fires. It's not a blame game. These are the people actually doing something and fixing it, he tol the He told the FOX News anchor.

It looks like a movie. It's surreal.

He believes the city will be able to rebuild but noted it was sad the tragedy is why people are coming together.

Leno isn't the only star lending a helping hand. Celebrities and entertainment organizations are pledging millions to help those who have been displaced or lost their homes, with Beyoncé directly millions to help families in the Eaton fire area.

Beyoncé has contributed $2.5 million to a newly launched LA Fire Relief Fund created by her charitable foundation, BeyGOOD.

The Screen Actors Guild announced over the weekend it would commit $1 million to help members affected by the fires. While a lot of attention has been paid to stars who have lost homes, numerous less-famous industry workers have also lost homes or been displaced by the fires.

On Saturday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited Pasadena to hand out food and water to fire victims and thank first responders.

At least 24 people have died between the Eaton and Palisades fires, the two biggest blazes, the Los Angeles County medical examiner said.

The Palisades Fire had at least eight deaths, according to medical examiner records, and 16 people have died in the Eaton Fire.
