Description
MOULTRIE, Ga. (WALB) - We now know the charges a woman faces after allegedly stabbing the father of her child following an argument. That’s according to the Moultrie Police Department (MPD).
Maronda Sha’naye French is currently being held with no bond at the Colquitt County Jail.
Police say she’s facing charges of murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm or knife in the commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes.
This all comes after MPD says 30-year-old Zayvone Brown was dropped off at the hospital with a stab wound on Sunday, July 20. He died shortly after.
We’re still working to learn if French remained at the hospital after dropping off Brown or if she was later arrested elsewhere.
A sister of Brown released the following statement about the death of her brother:
“He was a good person that everyone loved so dearly. He loved music, family, and his kids. Donations are accepted, and we definitely need prayers.”
A public viewing will be held July 25 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Church services will be held on July 26 at 3 p.m. To view the obituary, click here.
