ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany Police Department (APD) is investigating a fatal stabbing that occurred this morning.
The stabbing took place Friday, July 25 in the 1000 block of East Tift Avenue.
The victim, 33-year-old Darius Jackson, succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators are actively searching for the suspect, Edtavis Lequan Smith, 34, who is currently at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Warrants for his arrest were issued this morning for murder charges, according to APD.
Information is limited at this time as this is an active and ongoing investigation.
