MITCHELL COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – A known sex offender has been captured, according to the Mitchell County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO).

Officials confirmed that Dustin Edward Sale was located on June 20, 2025, hiding out in a camper in a wooded area off Highway 97.

WALB previously reported that Sale was wanted by MCSO for failure to register as a sex offender. He is also wanted by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office on an active probation warrant.

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
