The National Weather Service recommends the following tips for shoveling heavy, wet snow:
- Dress warmly - Make sure to cover your head, fingers and toes
- Stay hydrated - Avoid heavy meals right before or after shoveling
- Move only small amounts of snow - Don’t try to lift too heavy of a load with one pass of the shovel
- Take frequent breaks - Stop shoveling entirely if you feel exhausted
Most of the region saw a minimum of about four inches of snow Sunday evening into Monday.
