ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) - MARTA in Atlanta is offering the public complimentary rides to The Carter Center to pay respects to former President Jimmy Carter.

The shuttle bus rides will depart from King Memorial Station directly to The Carter Center. King Memorial Station is located at 377 Decatur St SE & Grant Street in Atlanta.

According to the MARTA website, the shuttles will depart from the station every three to five minutes around the clock until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

Below are some of the items that are prohibited on the shuttles and at The Carter Center:

  • Bags, backpacks, purses, clutches, and camera bags
  • Umbrellas
  • Aerosols, mace, and firearms
  • Animals other than service animals

Please be aware that while shuttles to the Carter Center are free, customers must pay a $2.50 one-way-trip fare to ride MARTA to King Memorial Station. There is also no public parking at King Memorial Station.
