Description

BAINBRIDGE, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) announced on Thursday, Sept. 11, that the license for Little Blessings will be revoked.

It was previously reported that a teacher at Little Blessings Childcare in Bainbridge was involved in a serious child abuse incident involving a 1-year-old on Aug. 13. The teacher was subsequently arrested.

On Aug. 22, WALB reported that DECAL issued an emergency closure order for Little Blessings.

Below is the entire release by DECAL:

“On Thursday, September 11, 2025, the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) issued a license revocation for Little Blessings Childcare, located at 205 Independent Street in Bainbridge, Georgia 39819. This decision was made following serious allegations of child abuse involving a one-year-old toddler on August 13, 2025. The teacher involved in the incident was subsequently arrested. The provider has the right to appeal the revocation to an administrative law judge with the Office of State Administrative Hearings (OSAH) within 10 days. However, it is important to note that Little Blessings Childcare will not be permitted to reopen during the appeal process, as an Emergency Closure was previously issued in accordance with O.C.G.A. Section 20-1A-13(c)(3).

We understand that this situation has created uncertainty and concern for families who relied on Little Blessings Childcare. DECAL is committed to supporting families during this challenging time.
