SOUTH GEORGIA (WALB) - This year, Juneteenth falls on June 19.

Here’s where you can celebrate the holiday in South Georgia:

Clay County

• The Fort Gaines Juneteenth Celebration will be held from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Clay County Schools Softball Field. For vendor information, call (229) 308-2665.

Dougherty County

• Soul & Spirit will celebrate Juneteenth at the Albany Museum of Art from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Adults ages 21 and over are invited to a night of food tasting, a jewelry demo, and Black history trivia for prizes. Admission is $5, $10 for two drinking tickets. Additional drinking tickets are $5 each.
• The city of Albany is holding a Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 21, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Albany Civic Center. This year’s theme is “Growing Together and Providing Unity Between the City, County, and Community.” Children ages 12 and under eat free.

Lowndes County

• Valdosta’s 33rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration will end with a Juneteenth Festival on Saturday, June 21, at Payton Park from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. To see the full list of events included in the celebration, click here.

Thomas County

• The Juneteenth of Thomasville–Thomas County Freedom Festival will return on Saturday, June 21, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at 2057 GA Hwy 122 in Thomasville. Some of the event highlights include:
  • A live Black history and living wax museums
  • Gospel Fest featuring True Glory, Red Hills Worship, Unending Praise, and a surprise gospel recording artist
  • Job recruitment, health and wellness, and college resource fair
