Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Warm and humid conditions will continue this weekend due to a high-pressure system draped over the Southeast US. This system will not let up much on Sunday and will lead to a new round of hot temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. Heat index values will reach into the triple digits once again, so make sure to limit your time outdoors as much as you can. Rain chances will be minimal.

More heat and humidity on Monday and Tuesday as highs soar toward the upper 90s and heat index values make it toward 105°+. There will be a few more scattered showers and storms starting Monday afternoon as a cold front moves into the South. The Weather Prediction Center has most of South Georgia under a Marginal Risk of excessive rainfall on Monday due to the copious amounts of rainfall possible as storms move through.

Rain chances will remain elevated through the rest of the week as a front slides southward into the Gulf. This will also help the temperature return to average in the low to mid-90s. Rain chances will drop as drier air is ushered in behind the frontal passage.

Tropical Update: A disturbance has been pinpointed in the Central Atlantic by the National Hurricane Center. This area has a low chance of formation within the next 7 days. We will keep you updated as this system is tracked.
