ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Mid-summer heat and humidity ramps up and rain chances remain low through the weekend. Ridge of high pressure limits return moisture for only a few passing showers while it gets hotter with highs mid-upper 90s. Factor in the high humidity it’ll feel like 100-105° today. Much hotter feel like of 105-108° on Sunday. This nears or hits heat advisory criteria of 108°.
The heat wave continues early week with highs upper 90s and heat indices 105-110° Monday and Tuesday. Rain chances return and highs drop back to average low 90s late week.
May sure you’re staying cool and hydrated. Also heed any signs of heat related illnesses.
Tropical Update: A disturbance has been pinpointed in the Central Atlantic by the National Hurricane Center. This area has a low chance of formation within the next 7 days. We will keep you updated as this system is tracked.
