PHOENIX (TNND) — Three people were shot and one person was stabbed during a family dispute on Christmas night at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, according to police.
Officers responded around 9:45 p.m. to a restaurant in Terminal 4 outside a security checkpoint and found three people with gunshot wounds, Phoenix police Sgt. Mayra Reeson told CNN.
A short while later, a juvenile female and a man with at least one stab wound were detained in the parking garage, police added.
Reeson said police "believe this was a family dispute that escalated."
The four victims were taken to the hospital with one woman in critical condition while two men with gunshot wounds and the stabbing victim are in stable condition.
Police said in an update on social media that no suspects were being sought and airport operations have returned to normal.
"There are no active threats at the airport, detectives are on scene and completing an initial review to learn what led to this incident," police wrote in a 1:58 a.m. update. "No flights are affected by this ongoing investigation."
In a separate incident, a man who misheard information about a possible active shooter at the airport showed up with a gun while police were investigating the earlier dispute and was detained after an altercation with police, Reeson said.
