ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A man and a mother are facing several charges including human trafficking after a 17-year-old slept with the man for money.

Police say that officers responded to the 1500 block of E. Broad Avenue in reference to a sexual assault.

When they arrived, Cleo Spence, 67, told police that he wanted Kimberly Murray and her children to leave his residence. They were staying at his residence due to their state of impoverishment, according to a release by police.

Murray then told police that she found messages in her 17-year-old daughter’s phone that suggested that Spence sexually assaulted her.

After speaking with the 17-year-old, investigators confirmed that Spence had met with her back in August and he was paying to be sexual with her, police say.

Police then determined that Murray had been instructing her to be sexual with Spence for money.
