Description
CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - Grady County Sheriff Earl Prince said 34-year-old Georgia Nicole Smith is being accused of shooting her father at their Grady County home during an argument over money.
“[Smith] shot him one time under the right armpit with a 38-caliber revolver,” Prince said.
Smith’s mother, siblings and uncle were all inside the home during the shooting.
“Domestic disputes — Sometimes they end like this with shots being fired," Prince continued. “Sometimes it’s just verbal. Sometimes it’s an altercation with your hand. But this time, it progressed into gun play, and a gentleman was injured. Before you let a situation like this get out of hand, take a step back and just think about the consequences that come down the pipe with domestic violence and anything like this. Just walk away. Simply walk away and separate yourself from the other party involved. Let cooler heads prevail, and make better decisions after you’ve had time to cool down a bit.”
The victim is currently in stable condition at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.
This is an ongoing investigation. At this time, charges are still pending. Georgia Smith is currently being held at the Grady County Jail.
