Description
WHIGHAM, Ga. (WALB) — Grady County deputies arrested a wanted felon after finding him hiding in a bedroom closet during a search warrant execution.
Around 11:30 p.m., the Grady County Sheriff’s Office and Whigham Police served a search warrant at a home on Wright Street in Whigham, looking for Kevin Lee Polk.
Polk was wanted on a felony probation violation out of Grady County, a felony financial transaction card fraud out of Mitchell County, and a misdemeanor obstruction warrant.
Deputies first met Cody Bryan Roberts, Sherry Ann Sandefur and George Lee Sandefur, who insisted Polk was not there.
When deputies forced open a bedroom closet, they found Polk hiding inside. All three were arrested, and a minor in the home was turned over to an adult.
Deputies said they found methamphetamine on Roberts. He is charged with felony possession of meth, while Sherry and George Sandefur face felony hindering charges.
Polk is back in custody on his two felony warrants and one misdemeanor warrant.
