Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz is coming under scrutiny for contributions from some companies his campaign received while he was running for reelection as governor of Minnesota.
Rachel O'Brien with OpenTheBooks.com, a watchdog group, joined The National Desk on Friday to talk about records that show some of those same companies also collected money from Minnesota taxpayers.
“He accepted at least $890,000 in campaign donations from people working for at least 434 different Minnesota vendors,” O'Brien said. “And those same companies collected billions of dollars in payments from the state in those same years, 2019 to 2023, actually. One extra year.”
