WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (TND) — Deputies released body cam video of the would-be Donald Trump assassin being apprehended Sunday.

Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, waswithin 500 yards of the former president when he was accused of pointing an AK-style rifle with a scope at Trump playing golf.

Routh was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number.

In the video, you see deputies with the Martin County Sheriff's Office shielding themselves behind a truck as they yell directions at Routh to surrenderafter being stopped on the interstate in Palm City.

"Driver, take two steps to your right! Driver, walk straight back!" deputies can be heard saying.

Routh then appears with his shirt over the back of his head as he is handcuffed and taken into custody.

After a witness helped identify Routh as the suspect,Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said they found an AK-style rifle with a scope, two backpacks hanging on a fence and a GoPro camera.

According to authorities, Trump was golfing when U.S. Secret Service agents who were posted a few holes up from where Trump was playing noticed the muzzle of an AK-style rifle sticking through a shrub that lined the course.

Agents opened fire, according to law enforcement officials. Trump was not injured in the incident.

In an email sent out to supporters, Trump said, “There were gunshots in my vicinity, but before rumors start spiraling out of control, I wanted you to hear this first: I AM SAFE AND WELL!” He wrote: “Nothing will slow me down. I will NEVER SURRENDER!”

It's the second assassination attempt made against Trump since he was shot in the ear two months ago in Pennsylvania.
