WASHINGTON (TNND) — President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the United States knows "exactly" where Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is hiding and called him an "easy target" before demanding an "unconditional surrender."

“We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “He is an easy target, but is safe there - We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now."

“But we don’t want missiles shot at civilians, or American soldiers. Our patience is wearing thin," the president added.

In a subsequent post, he wrote, "UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!"

Over the weekend, Trump opposed a plan from Israel to kill Iran's Supreme Leader, sources confirmed to CNN.

As Israel and Iran engage in strikes for a fifth day, Trump declared, “we now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran.”

“Iran had good sky trackers and other defensive equipment, and plenty of it, but it doesn’t compare to American made, conceived, and manufactured ‘stuff,’” he continued on his social platform. “Nobody does it better than the good ol’ USA.”

The comments come after Trump urged Tehran's residents to "immediately evacuate" as he cut short his visit to the G7 Summit in the Canadian Rockies for urgent talks with his national security team.

As speculation grows about whether the Trump administration will get involved with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth told Fox News that the United States is "postured defensively in the region to be strong in pursuit of a peace deal."

Israeli Ambassador to US Yechiel Leiter told CNN that the U.S. has been asked for a "defensive posture" amid the conflict with Iran.

"We’ve asked the United States for a defensive posture. And we are full of gratitude and thanks for the defensive systems that the United States has put in play,” he told CNN's Dana Bash.

"We’ve put out all that we know about Iranian positions on the ground and the administration, President Trump is going to make decision as to which way he’s going to go on this," he added.
