ASHBURN, Ga. (WALB) - A traffic stop for a seatbelt violation Sunday resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and multiple charges.

On Sunday, January 4, 2026, authorities say the stop occurred around 11:40 a.m. after officers observed a seatbelt violation and noted suspicious behavior from the driver. During the investigation, officers seized more than 11 ounces of marijuana, along with cocaine, ecstasy, digital scales, and baggies.

The driver was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine, and possession of ecstasy.

Officials say the seizure is part of an ongoing effort to keep illegal drugs off the streets and protect the community.
