THOMASVILLE Ga. (WALB) — A Thomasville hair stylist is hosting a haircut fundraiser to help the family of a Thomas County Central High School graduate who died in a car crash.

Deontavis Jamario Cooper, known as “Big Coop,” died May 23 in a crash in Leon County, Florida. He was a member of the class of 2026 and a football standout. He had signed to play football at Tulane University.

Master cosmetologist Gracie Majors is organizing “Cuts for Coop” to help Cooper’s family with funeral arrangements.

“Big Coop was a teammate of my brother Eli Majors, and he was a light to all. He was always so kind. This is the least I could do to support his family at this time.”
