WASHINGTON (TNND) — Passengers flying with low-cost Spirit Airlines will now face more restrictions after the carrier updated its dress code policy.

The update to its "Contract of Carriage" became official on Jan. 22 and says passengers “shall not be permitted to board” or “may be required to leave an aircraft” because of their clothing or offensive "body art."

The contract now specifies that passengers who are "barefoot or inadequately clothed (i.e., see-through clothing; not adequately covered; exposed breasts, buttocks, or other private parts) or whose clothing or article, including body art, is lewd, obscene, or offensive in nature" are subject to being grounded.

Guests agree to the dress code when they make a reservation with the airline.

Passengers have previously been banned from flights including two women who were asked to leave by a flight attendant in October for wearing crop tops.

Tara Kehidi filmed the removal from the plane and said she had to spend $1,000 to rebook with another airline, CNN reported.

The National News Desk reached out to Spirit Airlines for a comment but has yet to hear back.
