GRADY COUNTY, Ga. – A man is behind bars after Grady County deputies interrupted a burglary in progress at a local auto repair business during the early morning hours of Wednesday.

Around 1 a.m., a deputy performing routine security checks in the eastern part of the county noticed a suspicious vehicle on the property of the repair shop. Upon further investigation, deputies found that the shop, along with several vehicles on the lot, had been forcibly entered.

A search of the area led authorities to 37-year-old Jasmond Hampton of Camilla, Georgia, who was discovered hiding inside an abandoned car on the premises. He was arrested without incident.

Hampton faces multiple felony charges, including:

• Possession of a Controlled Substance
• Entering an Auto
• Burglary

In addition, Hampton has active warrants in Camilla for similar crimes.

The investigation remains ongoing.
