ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A man is in custody following a late-night shooting that left his father injured on Wednesday.
According to the Albany Police Department (APD), officers responded to the 600 block of Bobbitt Drive around 11:25 p.m. on Wednesday night, in reference to a reported shooting.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with Vindarius Jackson, 23, who told police he had shot his father, Vincent Jackson, 40. He was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
Witnesses told investigators the shooting followed an argument between the two prior to gunfire.
Officers located Vincent Jackson inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment and is currently listed in stable condition.
The incident remains under investigation.
