GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A vehicle ran into the back of a school bus Thursday morning, according to the Grady County School District.
The accident happened at around 6:35 a.m. on Highway 84, just outside of the city limits of Cairo.
The bus was at a complete stop with lights flashing and the stop sign engaged when the vehicle hit the bus from behind. The crash totaled the vehicle and caused significant damage to the bus.
At the time of the collision, there were no students on the bus. Three students were entering the bus on impact but were not injured.
According to the post, the driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The driver will be charged in the incident.
Other buses picked up the remaining students on the bus route and transported them to school.
