Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) -

OVERVIEW: A roller coaster ride of temperatures is expected over the next 7 days heading into next week. Highs will continue to rises into the low 80s as we end the work week, and then weekend showers, ahead of a cold front, bring freezing temperatures back to begin the work week next week.

TONIGHT/TOMORROW: A mild and foggy night is ahead, temperatures drop into the low 50s. Patchy fog will likely persist through at least some of your morning on Wednesday. Mostly cloudy skies will help keep the fog around, potentially lasting into the late morning for some areas. Sun and cloud mix likely for the afternoon with a very low chance for a couple sprinkles, most will stay dry. Highs reach into the mid-upper 70s.

THURSDAY-SATURDAY: Fog is likely each morning. High temperatures look to be in the low 80s each day, which may be good enough for a new record by the end of the week. Clouds linger and also bring a low chance for a few sprinkles on Thursday along with isolated light showers Friday. Rain chances pick up more Saturday, where heavier showers and maybe even a thunderstorm will be likely. The severe threat seems unlikely. Rainfall totals are generally less than a half an inch across SGA for the rest of the week, this won’t be much help for our drought.

EARLY NEXT WEEK: Showers on Saturday bring cooler temperatures to begin next week. High temperatures drop into the upper 50s and low 60s Sunday before freezing overnight lows roll in to greet us out the door during the early work week.
