ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Jan. 1 is the first day of a new year — and, in some cases, the first day of a whole new life.
Dozens of babies have been born in Georgia on Thursday, with hospitals sharing photos of the happy families. One child, Zenya, was even born at Piedmont Atlanta at 12 a.m. on the dot!
Baby Lucas was born at 6:09 a.m. at Wellstar North Fulton Medical Center. Baby Madelyn was born at 7:22 a..m. at Wellstar Cobb Medical Center.

The United Nations Children’s Fund estimates that more than 10,000 babies will be born in the U.S. across the country on New Year’s Day.
