Description
DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A newborn child is one of eight people who were injured in a three-vehicle crash involving an ambulance early Saturday morning, according to the Georgia State Patrol (GSP).

A Dougherty County EMS ambulance was involved in a rollover collision just after 7 a.m. at the corner of Pine Avenue and Monroe Street, according to Dougherty County EMS.
GSP troopers were requested by Albany Police at around 7:25 a.m. to investigate.
The investigation found that the ambulance, which was carrying three EMS personnel and two patients, was driving on Monroe Street and crashed with a 2017 Ford pickup at the intersection of Pine Avenue.

The initial collision caused a 2023 Buick Encore, which was driving on Pine Avenue, to get hit.
At the time of the crash, the ambulance was carrying three EMS personnel and two patients, one of which is a newborn infant.
A total of 8 injuries were reported, GSP said.
The occupants of all vehicles, totaling to nine individuals, were taken to Phoebe Main for non-life-threatening injuries. All are listed as stable.
The crash is still under investigation, according to GSP.
Dougherty County EMS said that emergency protocols were followed immediately, and the patients were taken to the hospital for continued evaluation and care as a precautionary measure.
“The safety of our patients, crews, and community remains our highest priority.
We are grateful that no serious injuries occurred and we appreciate the swift response of first responders at the scene.”
