ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Morrow police arrested a man late Saturday after he allegedly tried to carjack a homeowner with a stolen gun.
The incident ended with the man barricading himself inside a home in a residential neighborhood and being hauled away by Morrow police.
About 5 p.m., police said a naked man, later identified as Christopher Wayne Monroe, allegedly stole a 9mm Ruger handgun from a Toyota Tacoma in the driveway of a home in the 6000 block of Graceland Circle.
Monroe then approached a homeowner in the 6100 block of Oakridge Drive and tried to take his vehicle at gunpoint, according to Morrow police.
The homeowner was able to flee, but Monroe was able to enter the unoccupied house, police said.
Along with Morrow police, the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team descended upon the scene. Officers were able to enter the home and arrest Monroe.
