ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Atlanta police are searching for three suspects connected to the shooting that left a man injured and sprayed a school bus with bullets.

The shooting occurred on Wednesday in the 2600 block of Campbellton Road.

The victim, a 20-year-old man, was taken to the hospital while alert, conscious and breathing, police said.

According to Atlanta Public Schools (APS), the bus had already completed its afternoon route, but the driver and her two children were aboard.

Marylan Jackson, who lives nearby, called the incident shocking.

“I mean, I didn’t hear any gunshots or anything. I saw the car up here. I thought maybe it’s just random, you know, somebody being pulled over,” she said.

Breanna Harris was a block away picking up her mother when the shots rang out.

“I was driving by just picking my mom up, and I saw it. And I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ Then they told me a school bus was involved, and I was like, ‘Oh Lord, oh my God.’ Somebody’s child could have been killed, hurt,” Harris said.

The school district said the driver’s children, who are APS students, suffered minor scratches from the shattered glass. The driver was not injured, according to the district.

Atlanta police are circulating photos of the three suspects, seen walking with the victim moments before gunfire rang out.

Investigators are asking the public to share information on any of the suspects in the photos. You can submit a tip to Crime Stoppers without giving your name or any identifying information and be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 for the arrest and indictment of the suspects.
