DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) - A man was arrested for violating a court order, according to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies with CCSO went to a call about disorderly conduct in Douglas, according to CCSO.

CCSO said that an investigation led to the arrest of 44-year-old Christopher Jordan for violating a family violence order.

He was found walking near a business on Highway 158 West.

He initially denied involvement in the incident, but later admitted to a verbal altercation stemming from a personal dispute, CCSO said.

CCSO deputies used video and verbal evidence to confirm that Jordan had unlawfully approached someone whom he was legally prohibited from contacting.

A video recording provided to deputies showed Jordan’s voice during the confrontation, further substantiating the violation, said CCSO.

Jordan was taken into custody without incident and taken ot the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center, where he was placed on a 48-hour hold pending formal charges for Violation of a Family Violence Order, a misdemeanor, accoring ot CCSO.

“The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to enforcing protective orders and ensuring the safety of domestic violence victims,” CCSO said.
