Description
VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - With hurricane season less than two weeks away, Lowndes County EMA urges residents to register for AlertLowndes.
AlertLowndes is a free alert system that keeps citizens informed during emergency situations, officials said. Users can get emergency updates through email, text or through a phone call.
“AlertLowndes is one of the most important tools we have to communicate with the public during emergencies. When hazardous weather or another emergency threatens our community, receiving information that is both timely and accurate can help people make safer decisions for themselves and their families.”

To register for the AlertLowndes service, click here.
Atlantic hurricane season starts on June 1 and ends on November 30.
