KATHLEEN. Ga. (WGXA) — Many would agree that cancer is a scary diagnosis, but a haunted house is trying to "scare" up some support for a local 13-year old.

Ja’Ziyah Robinson is a 13-year-old girl battling a form of cancer called synovial sarcoma. She was first diagnosed around the age of 10.

"It's supposed to be a rare tissue disease but for me we found it in my neck, then the second time we found it in my left lung, and now it's in both of my lungs", said Robinson.

Despite the 3 year battle, Ja'Ziyah is keeping her hopes high and says her family is her biggest support. "I feel well...I love the support from my family. My family is always here when I need them", said Robinson.

Her support system has grown, as Lake Joy Trails of Terror is donating proceeds from their Halloween haunted house to her medical expenses. The non-profit is partnered with Jay's Hope foundation, which selects a child with cancer every year for the haunted house.

The haunted house, located in Kathleen, has been providing scares to the community for over 15 years.

Mike Kelly the owner says they take pride in creating a fun haunting experience while helping those in the community.

"This is what I enjoy to do. I use what I enjoy to do to give back to the community and create a safe haven for people to come have fun", said Kelly.

As spooky season goes on, Ja'Ziyah isn't spooked about her fight with cancer as she hopes to spread awareness about childhood cancer. Ja'ziyah wants to encourage other kids who are fighting the same battle.

"Be open minded to it. Sometimes you have to face the reality of it so be very opened minded to learn about it and try to fight it", said Robinson.

If you would like to visit the haunted house click here for more information. The last day to visit is November 1st.
