LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – Lee County is 200 years old and the community is coming together tonight to celebrate this historic milestone.

Founded in 1825, the county will mark its bicentennial with a special celebration in downtown Leesburg in front of the courthouse.

The festivities kick off at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until 10:00 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs for a comfortable evening under the stars. Live music will keep the crowd entertained throughout the night, starting with the Thomas Merritt Band at 6:00 p.m., followed by The Kinchafoonee Cowboys at 7:00 p.m.

Food, beer, and wine will be available for purchase, but organizers remind everyone that coolers are not allowed at the event.

With live performances, refreshments, and a strong sense of community, it’s sure to be a night to remember as Lee County celebrates 200 years of history and heritage.
