ECHOLS COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A traffic stop and search in Echols County has leads to discovery of drugs, guns, and thousands in cash.

Deputies with the Echols County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Highway 129 in Echols County on Friday, May 30 that resulted in the arrest of Antonio Norwood, 33, of Douglas.

During the traffic stop, deputies found approximately half a pound of marijuana, two firearms, and $2,252 in Norwood’s possession, Sheriff Randy Courson reports.

The sheriff’s office also found through a criminal history check that Norwood has a lengthy record, including multiple felony convictions.

As a result, Norwood was charged with:

• Felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
• Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
• Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

He was transported to the Lowndes County Jail.
