Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB)—A stationary front remains to our south as a new cold front is sliding south into the region. This will keep rain chances elevated through the evening and into early Sunday. This excess moisture may also result in a few areas of patchy fog into the night. Lows will be in the mid-60s to low 70s.
Sunday will feature a few showers and storms for those along I-75. Rainfall will be intermittent, with cloud cover sticking around for those not receiving rainfall. As the effects of the front filter in, clouds will start moving out for a few areas by Sunday evening. Highs for the day will be in the mid to upper 70s. Sunday night features lows falling into the upper 60s once again.
Next week, mostly dry on Monday and Tuesday as high pressure takes over behind the front. However, cloud cover will stick around and a few spotty showers cannot be ruled out. Rain chances increase toward the end of the week as Invest 90L starts to add some movement to our stationary front. This will drive in rainfall for Thursday into Friday.
Tropical Update: A few areas of watch are in the Atlantic. The one closest to home (Invest 90L) is located in the Bay of Campeche. This disturbance has a 50% chance of development over the next 2 days and a 70% chance next week. Disturbances 2 and 3 in the Atlantic have lower chances of development over the next several days.
