Description
WEDNESDAY PM: Drier air from a weak back door cold front has set in South Georgia. The heat sticks around nearing the mid 90s in the afternoon but lower humidity levels will make it more tolerable compared to earlier this week. Heat indices will top out in upper 90s to 102.
THURSDAY: The morning starts mild in the low 70s then temperatures will ramp up in the low to mid 90s in the afternoon. Humidity levels will be at the lowest they will be for the week making feels-like temperatures be sub 100. Mostly sunny skies will prevail.
FRIDAY: Another mild start in the low to mid 70s. Moisture begins to seep back into the region. Temperatures will top off in the mid 90s in the afternoon with feels-like temperatures returning to the triple digits.
WEEKEND: 4th of July will be hot and steamy with heat indices climbing back to 105+. Slight chance of showers and storms in the afternoon but most of us will stay sunny. Sunday will bring a better opportunity for showers.
EARLY NEXT WEEK: Afternoon showers and storms become more likely which will allow temperatures to drop back near average to below average.
