ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) - Governor Brian Kemp posted a statement today on Facebook following the news of a Marietta woman’s death. The woman was allegedly killed by an undocumented immigrant.

On Thursday, March 20, our sister station in Atlanta reported that the man accused of killing Camilia Williams, 52, was found to be an undocumented immigrant. He now faces charges of felony murder and aggravated assault.

The governor’s statement asks Georgians to join him in keeping Williams and her family in their prayers.

Kemp goes on to condemn acts of violence, adding, “if [those who commit violent crimes] are here illegally, we will not hesitate to work with our federal partners to ensure their removal from our state and country.”

The governor also thanked local law enforcement and the Trump administration for their assistance in this case.
