SOUTH GEORIGA (WALB) - Make sure to mark you calendars for one or more of the many South Georgia counties, towns, and churches are celebrating Easter with egg hunts, photoshoots, worship, and more!

Colquitt County

April 12

  • Moultrie-Colquitt County Parks and Recreation Authority is hopping into fun with an EGGcellent adventure at the SW Memorial Pool. You can join them for all the fun on Saturday, April 12 starting at 2 p.m. Activities include a floating Easter egg hunt, photos with the Easter Bunny, cookie decorating, field games, and more. There is a $2 entry fee for kids and and a $3 entry fee for adults. For more information, call 229-668-0028 or visit online here.

April 19

  • First Baptist Church of Moultrie will hold a Easter Egg Hunt at Main Street Park on Saturday, April 19. Beginning at 10 a.m., there will be two separate egg hunts for different aged kids. Bring your own Easter baskets!

Crisp County

April 12

  • Take a ride on the Easter Express with the Sam Shortline. There will be three trips on Saturday, April 12 and there will be activities at Gallery 41 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Ticket prices vary. For more information, visit here.

April 20

  • First Baptist Church of Cordele will have a series of events on Sunday, April 20 beginning with a potluck breakfast at 8:45 a.m., followed by a worship service at 10 a.m., and ending with a Easter egg hunt at 11:35 p.m.

Dougherty County

April 7-13

  • The Perfect Collar is inviting pups and their paw-rents to take free photos with the Easter Bunny at 2734 Ledo Road, Unit 4, in Albany from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. There are no limits on dogs. Donations to J-Lo’s or in-store purchases are welcome but pictures are absolutely free!

April 14-20

  • Kids ages 12 and under are invited to the annual Easter Egg Hunt in downtown Albany from 4 p.m. on April 14 until 4 p.m. on April 18. Clues will be posted daily at 4 p.m. on the Downtown Albany social media page. The lucky explorer who finds an egg can call the Downtown Manager’s Office to claim a fantastic prize.
  • The Canterbury Kitchen at Mayberry Diner is inviting the public to a Breakfast with Bonnie the Easter Bunny on Saturday, April 19, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. There will be some specialty items for this special breakfast event, as well as free photos with Bonnie for kids. Games and activities will be provided.
  • The Christ Church of Albany, at 505 Byron Plantation Road in Albany, is celebrating Easter with a free Easter Egg Hunt from 9:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. on the front lawn — or inside if it rains — on Saturday, April 19. Kids ages 3-12 are encouraged to bring their own baskets to fill with candy, prizes, and a special Easter message.
  • Lakeside Baptist Church in Albany is holding an Easter Egg Hunt starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 19. Kids of all ages are welcome to enjoy a morning of egg hunting and goodies — all in celebration of the joy and new life we have in Jesus!
  • Move Christian Church, at 1501 Whispering Pines Road in Albany, is inviting all children from 5th grade and under to partake in the Easter Eggstravaganza from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, April 19. There will be food trucks and the Easter Bunny will be making an appearance!
  • St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church, at 4800 Old Dawson Road in Albany, is inviting the community to Easter Sunday service on Sunday, April 20. The youngest worshippers are invited to a special Children’s Chapel at 10 a.m. Coffee, refreshments, and fellowship will be offered after the service. After the service, children are invited to an Easter Egg Hunt on the playground.

Lee County

April 12-13

  • The First Baptist Church of Albany is inviting the community to take part in an immersive “Eggsperience” at 145 Oakland Pkwy in Leesburg. Foods and inflatables will be included. Bring baskets for kids from PreK3 until Kindergarten. Kids in grades 1-4 do not need to bring a basket.

Lowndes County

April 7-13

  • Hannah G. Wacter Fine Art is hosting an easter themed paint party on Thursday, April 10 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. The event will be held at 2182 North Ashley Street in Valdosta. Tickets are $45 and participants will paint a 11x14 painting with the help and instruction of artist Hannah Wacter. You may purchase tickets here.
  • Trinity Presbyterian Church is hosting its annual Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 12 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. There will be games, crafts, face painting, bunnies to pet, bounce house, snacks, and more. Remember to bring your Easter basket.
  • The Valdosta-Lowndes County Parks & Recreation Authority (VLPRA) is making the Easter fun more accessible for people with disabilities. The Egg-ceptional Easter Egg Hunt for people with disabilities will be held at North Lowndes Athletic Complex in Hahira on Saturday, April 12 from 2-4:30 p.m. The egg hunt is free and open to children and adults with disabilities, as well as their families.
  • Hop on over to Valdosta Mall located at 1700 Norman Drive for some egg-citing fun and take photos with the Easter Bunny! You are invited to take free photos with the bunny on Saturday, April 12 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Remember to bring a cell phone or camera for the photos!

April 19-20

  • Park Avenue Church is hosting three worship services on Sunday, April 20. There will be two traditional worship services located in the Sanctuary. This first will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the second will begin at 10 a.m. Following the two traditional services, the church will host a contemporary worship service in the Worship Center.
  • Faith Baptist Church Valdosta is holding an Easter Worship service on Sunday, April 20 beginning at 9:45 a.m. The church is located at 2700 Barack Obama Boulevard. You are invited to join for a continental breakfast, Sunday school, and worship.

Sumter County

April 12-13

  • Try something new this Easter and make your own glass flower or egg from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, with The Gallery at Mobile Glassblowing Studios, located at 505 W Lamar Street in Americus. Sessions are about 15 minutes for one object. Everyone ages 6 and up are invited to join in, minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. For tickets, click here.
  • On Saturday, April 10, the 5th Annual Pictures with the Easter Bunny will be held from 1-3 p.m. at 111 West Forsyth Street in Americus. Photos are $10 each, cash is preferred. Additionally, enjoy Howie’s Lemonade Stand and decorate your own sugar cookie!
  • Cornerstone Americus, at 245 Southland Road in Americus, is holding a Palm Sunday Family Celebration on Sunday April 13, at noon. After the 10:30 a.m. service, guests are invited to stick around for free lunch, games and bounce houses and an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Tift County

April 7-13

  • Savor The Flavor is hosting an Easter Door Hanger Paint Party with Honeybee Creations on Thursday, April 10 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The event is located at 224 Main Street South. You will be asked to purchase a blank door hanger at the door. Everything else will be supplied.
  • Southwell is holding the Egg Drop & Wellness Hop will be held on Saturday, April 12, starting at 9 a.m. at the Tift County Recreation Department (TCRD). From 9 a.m. until noon, you can visit various vendors, enjoy food trucks, and enter the scavenger hunt for a prize. At 10:45 a.m., children aged 3 until 12 and up can line up in age order for the Egg Drop. The Egg Drop will start at 11 a.m. For more information, contact the TCRD at (229) 382-3262.
  • The Tifton Fire Department is egg-cited to host an Easter Egg Hunt. They are inviting the public to join them at Fulwood Park on Saturday, April 12 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. All ages are welcomed!


April 14-20

  • Tiftarea YMCA is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt on Wednesday, April 16 beginning at 6 p.m. The event is free to all families. Just remember your Easter baskets!
  • Tifton Council for the Arts is hosting an Exhibit on Screen titled Easter in Art. The film will be showed three days in a row from Wednesday, April 16 through Friday, April 18. The showings will begin at 7 p.m. and last until about 8:30 p.m. For more information, visit their website here.
  • Head to Downtown Tifton on Thursday, April 17 for an Easter Eggstravaganza. There will be candy and Easter eggs being handed out to kids ages 12 and under at merchants along the Hop Route.
  • Journey Church is holding a Good Friday Service on Friday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m. Childcare will be provided during the service.
  • First Baptist Tifton will hold two services on Sunday, April 20. The first service will be at 8:30 a.m. and the second will be at 11 a.m. in the Ministry Center.

Thomas County

April 12-13

  • The Easter Bunny is stopping by Weston Park in Thomasville on Saturday, April 12, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for the 2025 Easter Eggstravaganza. Starting at around 12:15 p.m., kids will be divided into four age groups to hunt for over 5,500 eggs, including 50 golden eggs featuring special prizes for kids. For more information, call Ricky Zambrano at (229) 227-7041.
  • On Saturday, April 12, from noon until 2 p.m. Finley & Reed Children’s Boutique, LLC, is inviting families to take pictures with the Easter Bunny at 2963 East Pinetree Blvd. in Thomasville. You can also make bunny bair and hunt for discount eggs hidden throughout the store.
