Real-time reactions:
Below are reactions from people who were on the campus during the incident:
Some of the students at Florida State University (FSU) right now are the same group who survived the 2018 Parkland shooting. No student should ever have to experience this. Let alone twice. America, we gotta do better

America is broken. My daughter Jaime was murdered in the Parkland school shooting. Many of her friends who were lucky enough to survive that shooting went on to attend FSU. Incredibly, some of them were just a part of their 2nd school shooting and some were in the student…

Lawmaker and law enforcement reactions:
During a meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, President Trump addressed the shooting at FSU. Before the meeting, Trump said he had been fully briefed on the shooting.
“It’s a shame, it’s a horrible thing. Horrible that things like this take place and we’ll have more to say about it later.”
Praying for the safety of everyone at FSU and a swift recovery for those injured. My team has been in touch with local law enforcement and continues to monitor the situation - students should continue to follow directions from school officials. https://t.co/C4NxX7Fscj

My office has already been in contact with school leadership about the tragic reporting on FSU’s campus. I am praying for the safety of the students, faculty and all first responders involved.

The @FBI is on the scene at Florida State and we are in communication with agents on the ground. Our priority is the safety of everyone involved. We will keep updating as we learn more. Praying for all.

“Stay strong, Tallahassee. We are thinking of our law enforcement friends, family, staff, and students of Florida State University, the medical teams who will assist with healing, and families of all those affected. Keeping you in mind today and in the days to come as they make their way through this terrible situation.”
