BERRIEN COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Two people were arrested in a drug trafficking bust following a joint undercover investigation, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).
BCSO said that Trampas Riley Edmonds, 29, picked up a package of 2.25 pounds of fentanyl from the Enigma Post Office. Edmonds was then arrested and charged with trafficking illegal drugs, officials said.
After Edmonds’ arrest, officials said they searched an Enigma residence and found more fentanyl and a firearm. These findings led to the arrest of Gloria Jean Burgess, 50. She was charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to BCSO.
“I want to thank everyone who joined forces to protect our communities in keeping this deadly substance away from our families and children,” said Berrien County Sheriff Ray Paulk.
The sheriff’s office said this was a joint effort from the United States Postal Service Federal Inspectors Office, the Ben Hill County Sheriff’s Office and the Nashville Police Department.

The sheriff’s office said this case is still active and under investigation.
