Description

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - A two-vehicle wreck in Thomasville briefly shut down part of Cairo Road on Tuesday afternoon.

At around 4:20 p.m., Thomas County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) deputies were called out to Cairo Road, just past FPL Foods, for a two-vehicle wreck, according to the TCSO.

The eastbound lane was shut down to incoming traffic.

TCSO officials confirmed with WALB that the road was reopened at around 5:45 p.m.

While the road was closed, deputies were working on diverting drivers off of that portion of Cairo Road onto the I-84 bypass, according to TCSO.

Troopers with Georgia State Patrol (GSP) are also on the scene and investigating the wreck.

We have reached out for more information and are waiting to hear back.
