BARNESVILLE, Ga. (WGXA) — A woman was arrested and charged with the death of a missing man found dead in Lamar County on Wednesday.
According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI), 36-year-old Laquinda Shandrell Moreland of Knoxville, Tennessee, was arrested for the murder of 85-year-old Charles Raymond Tice of Barnesville.
Lamar County Sheriff's Office and GBI said that Tice went missing in March 2025 but was later found dead on April 5. His remains were sent to the GBI's Crime Lab as the investigation into his death continued.
Now, just over seven months later, Moreland was arrested for murder, concealing the death of another person, and false statements. She is now being held at the Lamar County Jail.

The GBI is still investigating the case and is urging anyone with information to contact the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office at 470-704-7764 or the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Milledgeville at 478-445-4173.
