DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) — [UPDATE - June 15 at 10 a.m.]: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) provided an update in this case. Officials said that one man died in this incident.

The GBI said its investigation indicated that no shots were fired at local law enforcement officials. The GBI also clarified that no local law enforcement officials fired their weapons.

[ORIGINAL ARTICLE]: The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) is looking into an incident in Coffee County after deputies received a call about gunshots on Saturday, June 13.

According to the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the call came in from Highway 158 East near the Dollar General.

Authorities say the investigation is active, but there is no threat to the public.
