Description
DOUGLAS, Ga. (WALB) — A former Coffee County Sheriff’s deputy is facing multiple criminal charges after a multi-year investigation, the sheriff’s office said Tuesday, May 5.
Investigators with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) allege that 49-year-old Chris Ashley Rozar was involved in stalking behavior and engaging in an inappropriate relationship, among other forms of misconduct.
“Our mission will always be to operate with Integrity, Compassion, Accountability and Professionalism.”
Rozar is charged with:
- Four counts of Violation of Oath by a Public Officer
- Two counts of Computer Invasion of Privacy
- One count of Prohibited Use of Captured License Plate Data
- One count of Stalking

Former Sheriff Doyle Wooten reportedly requested the GBI to independently investigate the public allegations in 2024.
Rozar was terminated from his position when that investigation began, CCSO said. Rozar was taken into custody by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday.
