ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Albany-Dougherty County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is set to activate at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, the city announced.
Officials said the activation is in conjunction with Albany State University’s (ASU) homecoming parade and festivities that will be held in downtown Albany and the surrounding areas this weekend.

The EOC is a phone line that will be available to answer any questions beginning at 5 p.m. on Oct. 16, officials said. The number to reach the EOC is 229-302-1900.
The Dougherty County Emergency Management Agency said it will continue to monitor the celebrations and provide updates as needed, according to a press release.
Those in need may still utilize 911, but the city said to use it for emergencies only.
