LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – Six people were hospitalized Sunday after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. 82 and Cookville Road in Lee County.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash happened around 3:28 p.m. on Sept. 7. Investigators say a 2025 Kia Sportage, driven by 23-year-old Davion Jaquez McGee of Valdosta, collided with the back of a 2024 Kia Forte and a 2013 Ford F-150 that were stopped at a red light.

All six occupants involved in the crash were taken to Phoebe Memorial Hospital in Albany with non-life-threatening injuries. They have since been released.

After his discharge, McGee was booked into the Lee County Jail and charged with distracted driving and driving under the influence of drugs.

The Georgia State Patrol continues to investigate.
