ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Passengers on a Delta Air Lines flight from Orlando to Atlanta had to be evacuated on Monday morning after a fire.
Delta Flight 1213 was scheduled to depart at 11 a.m. The airline said a fire started in the tailpipe of one of the plane’s two engines.
The plane was carrying 282 passengers, 10 flight attendants and 2 pilots.
“We appreciate our customers’ cooperation and apologize for the experience,” Delta said in a prepared statement. “Nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible.”
Delta said that passengers have returned to the terminal and will be given food and drink before getting on a new flight to their destinations.
Their are no reports of any injuries.
