Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A stalled frontal system will bring showers and storms into South Georgia throughout Sunday. A Marginal Risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather is likely as storms move in. The threats of damaging winds, hail, flash flooding, and an isolated tornado are possible throughout Sunday. Rainfall totals can reach up to 5″+ locally as showers and storms move across the same locations throughout the morning. Temperatures will remain in the 50s and 60s for highs and lows on Sunday.
As the low-pressure system moves out Sunday night into early Monday, we will see more isolated showers, and cloud cover will remain in place throughout Monday. This will keep highs in the upper 50s and the 60s. Skies will clear out by Monday evening, allowing low temperatures to dip into the 40s.
High pressure moves in by Tuesday, leading to sunny skies and warmer highs. High temperatures will reach into the 70s through Wednesday. The warmer temperatures will stick around until Thursday as moisture returns with a new disturbance. More rainfall is possible next weekend.
