GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – A father is fighting for his life after being shot by his daughter during a family dispute, according to Grady County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Harvey.

The incident occurred Tuesday morning on Live Oak Road in Cairo. The daughter, whose identity has not yet been released, allegedly shot her father during the dispute. The victim was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and is in critical condition.

Following the shooting, the daughter was taken into custody and is facing charges, the specifics of those charges are currently unavailable at this time.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has taken over the investigation.
