COOK COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – Condolences are pouring in across Cook County following the passing of longtime County Commissioner Debra Robinson-McKenney.

Officials confirmed that Commissioner Robinson-McKenney died on Wednesday, June 18.

She was known throughout the community for her unwavering dedication to public service and her compassionate leadership. Her passing has left a deep void in the hearts of many who knew and admired her.

Visitation for Commissioner Robinson-McKenney is scheduled for Friday, June 20, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lane Memorial Chapel in Adel. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 21, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church, also in Adel.

The Cook County Fire Department and Emergency Management Agency (EMA) shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, stating:

“She was a devoted public servant and an inspiring leader. Even while facing personal health battles, she remained deeply committed to serving the people of her district and all of Cook County with compassion, strength, and integrity.”

Commissioner Robinson-McKenney’s legacy of service, resilience, and leadership will be remembered by many throughout the Cook County community.
