BROOKS CO, Ga. (WALB) —The Brooks County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) says a deputy removed an alleged drunk driver from the road after spotting a truck being driven recklessly on Troupeville Road.
According to the sheriff’s office, on Monday, June 29, a deputy saw a vehicle go into a roadside ditch, then continued down the road.

After pulling the vehicle over, deputies identified the driver as Julian Castio. Investigators say Castio provided a preliminary breath sample of 0.242 BrAC — nearly three times Georgia’s legal limit of 0.08.
Officials also determined he did not have a valid driver’s license and found open containers of alcoholic beverages inside the truck.
Castio was taken into custody and charged accordingly, the sheriff’s office said.
With July 4th celebrations approaching, the sheriff’s office is using the incident as a reminder that impaired driving puts lives at risk and is urging drivers to “arrive alive, drive sober.”
